“The Wave is based on an incident that took place in a high-school history class in Palo Alto, California in 1969.

this book analyses Hitler’s rise to power and the manipulative, enticing movement he created. it is extremely relevant in our political climate today, and it is very important to understand how we got to where we are right now.

in the book, Ben Ross says, “You have to remember that the rest of the German population was unorganized, and unarmed and frightened. They had also gone through a terrible period of inflation that had virtually ruined their country. Perhaps some of them hoped the Nazis would be able to restore their society. Anyway, after the war, the majority of Germans said they didn’t know about the atrocities.”

what has Trump promised to do since the beginning of his campaign? “fix” the economy. so many people are saying, “oh but he’ll lower the price of gas/eggs/etc.” yet those same people—and many more—also say, “if is was alive during WWII, i wouldn’t have let the nazis come to power.” you have to understand that this change doesn’t happen overnight. as written in The Handmaid’s Tale (another amazing book), “Nothing changes instantaneously. In a gradually heating bathtub, you'd be boiled to death before you knew it." this is happening. now. and the majority of the US population needs to wake up and recognize the similarities between our current political climate and that of pre-WWII Germany. the CDC is not allowed to communicate with the public. ICE is tearing apart families. we pulled out of WHO. the Lemkin Institute for Genocide Studies and Prevention has given the US a red flag alert for genocide.

now is the time to fight back.

NGL I took a while to finish the Thriller Bark arc, especially after the intensity of the Water Seven/Ennies Lobby arc.
